That’s a belief we’ve built our brand on since the 70s. No matter how close you look, you’ll see it in every single detail.

Helping homes across the world have less of an impact on the world.

While good design might be long-lasting, not everything in this world shares that trait. Waste has become a part of our every day. Because right now, waste is easy. If the equipment falters or the food looks less than perfect, discarding and buying new feels like the easiest step. When obsolescence is part of everyday design, it becomes a part of everyday life, too. We know the decisions made every day in every single home have the power to change the world.

That’s why at Braun, we’re making the decisions easier for you.

80% of a product’s environmental impact is determined at the design stage

That’s why it is important to have a systemic approach to product development following our new Group Eco-Design Guidelines, a manual developed in cooperation with experts of Politecnico di Milano that set the basis of strategic knowledge of a new - generation of eco-efficient appliances. As a step forward 70% of our newly developed products will be covered by this Eco-Design Guideline from 2023 on.

Dieter Rams již v 70. letech minulého století vyvinul nezapomenutelný jazyk designu společnosti Braun a definoval 10 zásad dobrého designu. Přestože jsou tyto zásady již od samého počátku součástí naší DNA, náš pohled vždy směřuje do budoucnosti.

Ohleduplnost k životnímu prostředí

Dobrý design je šetrný k životnímu prostředí.

Snažíme se spotřebovávat co nejméně zdrojů a pracujeme na tom, abychom v našich produktech využívali stále více materiálů, které jsou buď recyklované, nebo recyklovatelné, případně obojí.

Do budoucna pracujeme na tom, aby od roku 2027 recyklované plasty tvořily nejméně 30 % z celkového množství plastů použitých u nově vyvíjených/budoucích produktů, a tím naplňujeme náš závazek týkající se recyklace materiálů.

Kromě toho jsme již ušetřili více než 100 tun papíru díky částečné digitalizaci našich návodů k použití pro produkty, které se na celém světě prodaly v roce 2022. Obaly 53 % produktů Braun prodaných v roce 2022 navíc neobsahovaly žádný EPS (expandovaný polystyren).

In 1998, we bought a Braun Combimax 700 food processor. My wife likes to cook as a hobby, so it was used almost every day. And not just once or twice, but sometimes for more than 2 or 3 hours – with breaks of course! After about 10 years, we asked ourselves how much longer it could last. So in 2008 we bought a new food processor – a Braun Combimax 700 too, of course – in order to be prepared for when the original stopped working. But it kept working perfectly. Then, on September 25th 2014 (!!!), it finally gave up the ghost after 16 and a half years! Overall calculation: 198 months x 25 days.
