That’s a belief we’ve built our brand on since the 70s. No matter how close you look, you’ll see it in every single detail.

Helping homes across the world have less of an impact on the world.

While good design might be long-lasting, not everything in this world shares that trait. Waste has become a part of our every day. Because right now, waste is easy. If the equipment falters or the food looks less than perfect, discarding and buying new feels like the easiest step. When obsolescence is part of everyday design, it becomes a part of everyday life, too. We know the decisions made every day in every single home have the power to change the world.

That’s why at Braun, we’re making the decisions easier for you.

80% of a product’s environmental impact is determined at the design stage

That’s why it is important to have a systemic approach to product development following our new Group Eco-Design Guidelines, a manual developed in cooperation with experts of Politecnico di Milano that set the basis of strategic knowledge of a new - generation of eco-efficient appliances. As a step forward 70% of our newly developed products will be covered by this Eco-Design Guideline from 2023 on.

We believe that good design can make lives better.

Back in the 70s Dieter Rams developed Braun’s memorable design language and defined 10 principles of good design that are still relevant today. While these principles have been a part of our DNA from the start, we’re always looking to the future.

Good Design is environmentally friendly.

We aim to use as little resources as possible and work on increasing the usage of materials in our products that are either recycled, recyclable, or both.

Moving forward, we are working on having at least 30%* of recycled plastic over the total plastic used in newly developed/upcoming products as of 2027 according to our commitment regarding material recycling.

Moreover, we have already saved more than 100 tons of paper through the partial digitalisation of our user instruction manuals for products globally sold in 2022. Also, there was no EPS (Synthesized Expanded Polystyrene) in the packaging of 53% of the Braun products sold in 2022.

The premium Braun dishwasher-safe attachments are engineered to survive 200 cycles in a continuous dishwasher program to guarantee function and visual appearance over the product's lifetime.

Seit über 60 Jahren im Einsatz.

Vor 55 Jahren habe ich zur Geburt meiner Tochter drei Braun Geräte geschenkt bekommen: einen Mixer, eine Saftpresse und eine Obstpresse. Alle drei Geräte habe ich seit 1960 fast täglich in Gebrauch. Deshalb möchte ich mich für die gute Qualität und die jahrelange Nutzung ohne Reparaturen bedanken.

Im Jahr 1998 kauften wir eine Braun Combimax 700 Küchenmaschine. Meine Frau kocht hobbymäßig gerne, so dass sie fast jeden Tag im Einsatz war. Und zwar nicht nur ein- oder zweimal, sondern manchmal mehr als 2 oder 3 Stunden lang - mit Pausen natürlich! Nach etwa 10 Jahren fragten wir uns, wie lange sie noch durchhalten würde. Also kauften wir 2008 eine neue Küchenmaschine - natürlich auch eine Braun Combimax 700 - um für den Fall gewappnet zu sein, dass die Originalmaschine nicht mehr funktioniert. Aber sie funktionierte weiterhin perfekt. Dann, am 25. September 2014 (!!!), gab sie nach 16,5 Jahren den Geist auf! Gesamtrechnung: 198 Monate x 25 Tage.
