How can I clean stained or discoloured plastic parts of my hand blender?

Certain kinds of food such as carrot and tomato can lead to discoloration of the plastic. To remove these stains,try wiping them clean with vegetable oil before washing them. The staining is not dangerous and the shaft will be safe to use. Handblenders with a stainless steel shaft will resist staining.
